Fran Gaspari: about Active Rain

Last April at an Old Republic Title Insurance Company seminar I was privileged to meet Ed Rybczynski for the first time…since then, we have renewed our friendship on several occasions through blogging and commenting on each other’s blogs, and over the phone on many occasions!

Ed recently asked me if I would write a post on why I blog on Active Rain!

By the way, Active Rain is my only blog, and if it wasn’t for Ed, those reading this would probably never know Fran Gaspari!   Ed is the main reason that I started blogging.

We had already shared our common love for the title business and our common displeasure at the current environment that exists within the title industry before I even signed on at Active Rain.

I went on Active Rain convinced it was my duty and obligation to ‘convert’ some if not all of the somewhere around 30,000 members at the time in midsummer of 2007!   At last glance there are nearly 76,000 members and counting!

Little did I know that most of the Active Rain members I would meet, and quickly become connected with by common values and ideologies, did not represent the mainstream of the real estate industry which I was hell bent to ‘convert’ and ‘make transparent’!   Of course the ills and woes of our beloved title industry were shared by and even caused primarily by our brethren in the real estate industry…’them’ were the real culprits!   The snakes, the sleazes, the cockroaches, the controlled business freaks, the egomaniacs who fed on the title business for both power and money…they all were in the real estate and mortgage industries.   Or so I thought!

Come to find out that the ‘head of the beast’ that I thought were the members of the real estate community that I sought to ‘convert’ and who were readily recognizable by their blogsites on Active Rain were really members of the choir who for the most part shared the same goals, ideals, and values as Ed and I.

The scoundrels, sleazes, cockroaches, and other amoral characters were too ashamed to stick their necks out and expose themselves to the light of day and the transparency of Active Rain!!!

I take this post to apologize to my many friends on Active Rain who have become part of my cyber family! I didn’t give you the credit you deserve…and sold you short!

Almost without exception, the Active Rain family, with whom I regularly blog and comment and share industry ideals and frustrations, are at the cutting edge of their professions in knowledge, ethics, values, and even wit and wisdom!

Ed, that’s why I blog on Active Rai
n!
